Notice: Planned water service interruption in Wellington on June 12

The County will be working with McInroy-Maines Construction Ltd. to conduct planned improvements in the distribution system at the intersection of Belleville Street and Main Street in Wellington on Monday, June 12.

This planned work is part of the ongoing Belleville Street Reconstruction.

-- Planned distribution system valve replacement resulting in water service interruption will begin at approximately 9 am on Monday, June 12, with an expected completion time of 11 am the same day.

-- Customers in the affected area are encouraged to store some potable drinking water for use during the interruption. Residents that will be directly affected by the interruption will receive a hand delivered notice.

-- This planned work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents living in the area will experience intermittent interruptions to water service between the hours of 9 am and 11 am. Residents may also experience coloured water when water service is restored. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.

-- To address pressure loss and the potential of coloured water, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete and regular water service is restored.

-- Lane restrictions at the intersection of Belleville Street and Main Street will be in place for the duration of the work. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.

-- Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
