NOTICE: Fire flow testing in Picton July 10

The Water and Wastewater Department will be conducting fire flow testing at the intersection of Elk and Union Streets in Picton on Wednesday, July 10.

• Fire flow testing will begin at 5:30 am, with an expected completion time of 7 am the same day.

• A temporary closure of Elk and Union Streets will occur while work is being conducted. The closure is expected to be less than 15 minutes in duration.

• Noise levels may be elevated for the duration of the repair.

• This work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents living in the area may experience intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while fire flow testing is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of the fire flow testing.

• If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance is complete.
