Notice: Traffic Disruption on Picton Main Street

On Tuesday, April 18th, crews from Taggart Construction will return to complete certain remaining elements of the Picton Main Street Construction project. This will result in some disruption to vehicle and pedestrian traffic along Picton Main Street.

Construction will begin on Tuesday, April 18th.  This work will be completed before May 12th. Some asphalt repairs will follow later in the spring.

Crews will be pouring concrete crosswalks at two locations – near Main Street’s intersections with Elizabeth and Ross Streets. Traffic at these two locations will be reduced down to one lane for the duration of construction. Temporary signals will be installed to direct traffic during this time, and vehicles on adjacent side streets will be limited to turning in one direction onto Main Street. This work is anticipated to take approximately two weeks.

The installation of certain decorative elements and replacement of some poured sidewalk will also cause a slight disruption to pedestrian traffic and the availability of parking spots along Main Street.

Access to businesses on Main Street will be maintained at all times.
