NOTICE: Flood outlook statement issued for Quinte Conservation Watershed

A flood outlook statement has been issued for the Quinte Conservation Watershed that says rain, heavy at times, is expected to start on Friday, April 19.

• Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are possible by Sunday, April 21.

• The heavy rainfall could cause localized flooding in low-lying areas.

• Property owners – especially those in low-lying areas and/or along shorelines – are encouraged to be proactive and take necessary precautions to protect their health, home and property. Tips to help you prepare for flooding are posted on the Emergency Management Ontario website.

• Property owners can also assist with proper drainage by ensuring their culverts and catch basins are cleared of loose debris.

• If you notice flooding on municipal roads, contact 613.476.6505.

• The municipality will monitor conditions throughout the holiday weekend.
