Municipality invites applications for community grants over $5,000

Picton – The County of Prince Edward has opened the application period for community grants over $5,000.

“The Municipal Community Grants Program is a vital resource for improving the well-being and quality of life in our community,” says Robert Quaiff, Mayor, County of Prince Edward.

Non-profit, community-based organizations may request financial assistance as well as in-kind support to offset the costs associated with using municipally owned facilities. The list of 2018 recipients of community grants over $5,000 is posted online.

Grant applicants must demonstrate the value and benefit of their work to the community and capacity to complete the proposed project. Applications are also evaluated based on their alignment with the goals and objectives of The County’s Corporate Strategic Plan and the Community Development Strategic Plan, and other relevant strategic documents.

Visit the County website to access the application form and more information about the funding criteria. The Municipal Community Grant Program is subject to County Council approval during the 2019 budget process.

The deadline for applications is 4 pm on Friday, December 7. Submit applications to Emily Cowan, Grants and Special Projects Coordinator, in person at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street, Picton) or via email ecowan@pecounty.on.ca.

In addition to grants over $5,000, The County in conjunction with The County Foundation (TCF) administers two other streams of the Municipal Community Grant Program: grants up to $5,000 in cash and in-kind, as well as in-kind grants of $1,000 or less. The application deadline for those streams is Friday, Nov. 16 at noon. Visit the TCF website for more information.
