County appoints Robert McAuley acting CAO

Picton – The County of Prince Edward announced today that Council has appointed Robert McAuley as the acting chief administrative officer.

The appointment is effective immediately and follows the announcement on April 1 that the employment relationship between the municipality and former CAO James Hepburn had ended.

“Robert has a wealth of experience working with staff and departments across the municipality. We are pleased he has accepted Council’s invitation to oversee day-to-day operations of the municipality during this transition period,” says Steve Ferguson, Mayor, County of Prince Edward.

Mr. McAuley joined the County of Prince Edward in 2009. He served nearly 10 years overseeing the County’s Engineering, Development and Works Department before becoming the Executive Director of Infrastructure, Capital and Development Initiatives last year.

Council will undertake in the coming weeks an extensive search for a permanent CAO.

“We will be looking internally and externally to find the best person to provide organizational leadership for the municipality,” Mayor Ferguson says. “In the meantime, the municipality will continue to move forward and strive to deliver the high level of service our residents and businesses expect from us.”
