The Important Role of Volunteer Firefighters
Volunteer Firefighters are your neighbours, your co-workers and your friends. They are County men and women from all walks of life that respond whenever they are called upon to manage emergencies in our community. Volunteer firefighters benefit from extensive training, experience and community involvement.
Requirements of a Volunteer Firefighter
Requirements to become a volunteer fire fighter are a commitment to attending emergency calls and trainings, a clean driver's abstract, doctors clearance, a vulnerable sector check and an interest in serving the community. A "DZ" license is preferred, however successful candidates will be trained in-house to obtain licensing within a year.
